Lookit that, my sister and I made some pretty noises!
I actually might prefer this to the original in some ways…and not just because my girlfriend is singing! It’s just that the original has this really weird background “beat” that I guess is supposed to make the song unsettling or something but just fails at it. The steady beat Ellie does here and the duet dynamic work nicely to improve upon the original.

Huh. I had wondered why this song seemed so familiar. This was originally a 1984 song by Don Henley, a former Eagle (not available on Youtube). I like the original too, but this cover is a bit more fun to listen to. However, I will admit this cover probably kills a bit of the meaning behind the song since it’s about getting older and still holding love for someone met summers ago and stuff. This sort of melancholy feeling was probably better represented by Don. OH well.
